It Came From the Gowanus is a monthly reading series produced by David Delaney and K.H. MacLean that features works in various stages of completion by local artists in New York City. Performances are at The Bachche Cafe (directions below).
We accept works of many different formats, including:
- Short Fiction
- Long Fiction
- Poetry
- Stageplays
- Screenplays
- Short Films
Please submit works to Gowanus@ratedwrong.com with the type of work submitted and "submission" in the title of the email (I.E. "Novel Submission" "Screenplay Submission etc.). Please limit works to 10 pages. Authors whose works are selected will have the option of reading it themselves or allowing the piece to be dramatically read by a ICFG reader.
The Producers
David Delaney
David is a Brooklyn-based stage and film director, producer, and teaching artist. He is currently a Resident Director at The Flea Theatre (www.theflea.org). David has also worked with Ma-Yi Theater, Shakespeare's Globe, Samuel French OOB Festival (finalist), Rutgers University, The Association for Theatre in Higher Education, CoLAB Arts, and many more. A co-founder of Foxhole Entertainment, he is currently in pre-production for the upcoming short film "Apt." (www.AptTheFilm.com).
K.H. MacLean
K.H. is a Brooklyn-based author, blogger, songwriter, and stand-up comic. He is the creator of www.ratedwrong.com (obviously) and has previously worked as a columnist for online publications including Primer Magazine and Bleacher Report. He also enjoys working with his hands and is an undefeated Game of Thrones trivia champion.
The Venue
The Bahche is a Turkish style cafe located on 7th st. between 3rd and 2nd Avenue (right next to the Bell House).
